Where is the Geological Survey of Japan?

GSJ is located in the Tsukuba Science City, about 60 km from Tokyo.

Transportation to GSJ

from Tokyo Station:
Take the highway bus bound for Tsukuba Center from bus stop number 2 near the Yaesu South exit. The bus costs 1,230 Yen, and takes about 70 minutes. Exit the bus at Namiki Ohashi, the first stop, and follow the sign to AIST Center. From the bus stop it is about 5 minutes walk.
from Ueno Station:
Take the Joban Line for either Tsuchiura, Katsuta or Takahagi, and exit the train at Arakawaoki. It takes about 70 minutes, and costs 930 Yen. From Arakawaoki West exit, take a taxi to Geological Survey (Chishitsu-Chosajo). The taxi takes about 15 minutes and costs about 2,000 Yen.
from Tokyo International Airport (Narita):
Take a taxi to Geological Survey (Chishitsu-Chosajo), Tsukuba. This takes about 90 minutes, and costs about 20,000 Yen. The bus for Tsuchiura is also served about every 2 hours. It costs 2,500 Yen, and takes about 90 minutes. Exit the bus at Tsukuba Center, and take a taxi to Geological Survey (Chishitsu-Chosajo). The taxi takes about 5 minutes and costs about 1,000 Yen.
